Can my possessions be stored temporarily?
If for some reason you are unable to immediately possess your new residence, your belonging can be stored in one of our temperature-controlled warehouses. We provide safe storage facilities where we can take care of your items until you’re ready to pick them up. In fact, the first two weeks of storage are free! Talk to our staff about your requirements and they will be happy to discuss the storage charges and fees. You will need to pay a fee if you require your items to be delivered from our warehouse to your new residence.
How long can my possessions be stored?
Firemen Movers will store your possessions as long as you need. We provide short and long-term storage solutions. Our short-term storage options allow you to choose how long you will need the space for and will allow you to extend or shorten it as you need. As for our long-term storage solutions, we secure your items as long as you need in our temperature-controlled facility that features monitored alarms and closed-circuit video cameras.
Will my belongings be safe in the storage unit?
Our storage facility is constantly maintained to be in tip-top shape, so your possessions will stay clean. Should you require our team to transport your belonging from your residence to the storage facility, or vise versa, we take the extra time to secure your possessions and wrap them carefully to protect them from any bumps or scratches. We provide free moving blankets while in storage, so all of your items remain safe and wrapped. Our trucks are also kept clean and are secure.
Can I get access to my items in the storage?
Yes. You are able to access your possessions any time during the length of your storage with us. We also provide a removal service and a collection and delivery service, which allows us to retrieve or store away any item you request. All we ask is that you book an appointment and we will ensure you have access to your possessions.
What are the locations of your storage units?
Our storage unit locations are placed across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and surrounding communities. We provide portable storage options that allow you to access your possessions conveniently, while knowing they are secured and isolated when you leave them in our care.
What items cannot be stored in a storage unit?
Transporting and storing items that are flammable, explosive, or corrosive is illegal and unsafe, so we ask that you carry these items yourself, or properly dispose of them before your moving day. According to Transport Canada’s Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act, items of this kind include the following:
- Gases (compressed, deeply refrigerated, liquefied or dissolved under pressure)
- Flammable and combustible liquids
- Flammable solids (substances that pose the high risk of spontaneous combustion)
- Oxidizing substances
- Poisonous and infectious substances
- Radioactive materials
- Miscellaneous products, substances, or organisms considered to be dangerous to life, health, property, or the environment when handled and transported.
How do you keep track of stored items?
Each of our storage units is individually labeled with a number that corresponds to each customers’ data in our computer system. We also tag and list every item inside your unit(s) and keep track of delivery, so we know where your items are at all times.

Can I transfer to a larger or smaller unit after a few months?
Yes, if you need a smaller unit later on after removing some of your items, you can move them to another locker that is smaller. Do you provide heated storage?
Our facility is climate controlled. We provide air conditioning in the summer, and heat in the winter, to keep everything at a comfortable and stable temperature all year long. This also helps us have the right humidity level to prevent mould growth.
